It’s been a hectic last few days. Lots of coffee, lots of long hours, lots of late nights baby sitting the VRGIRLZ store. Lots of email support. Mostly smooth but we had some bumps. Lots of slow down on Friday (heavy traffic) which we have since optimized and we also had some really nasty caching issues last night, which I’m sure confused a lot of people!! We are still standing…

Thanks to our customers

The support from customers has been over whelming. We never even dreamed we would get as much interest as we have on the store. The comments we have received have been incredible, such positive experiences from people. ..but I know we have many areas to improve in which we are trying to do.

The VRGIRLZ website has also had some tweaks:

  1. Version number system has been integrated.
  2. We have updated the reCAPTCHA to a more robust version for registration.
  3. Epoch working and accepting PayPal payments
  4. Faster load times!


We’ve had 2 people so far who get instant crashes with the products 🙁

These can’t be explained easily yet but we are looking into them. Personally I have had the same thing happen on one of the test PC’s here and it cannot be solved. I’ve contacted Oculus VR about this but they could not explain it, so we need to dig further.

DK2 Demo

LUCID DREAMS II – VRGIRLZ brand new demo

This will give us a good opportunity to test our VR implementation with as many people as possible and get lots and lots of feedback. We welcome posts here telling us about your experiences good and bad. We need people to tell us if they get crashes that can’t be solved, what they think of the scans and the whole experience.

This is a futuristic, voyeuristic experience. Showcasing realistic human scans frozen in time, featuring the beauty of the female form.  You can explore these women from up close, at any angle and “size” you want, something not possible in real-life. There is some limited interactivity.

Currently our products and demo DO NOT feature animations. But we are working on it 🙂

The issue seem to be having many animations on screen at once. Even if we use level of detail and only pop the animations in at close range, Unity still seems to need to load the animation into memory and we get a frame drop, which causes stomach churning sickness. On the DK2 just one dropped frame and you will get severe headaches and feel sickness (this wasn’t the case on the DK1)

We want all our products to sustain 75fps with VSync on and at-least 200 fps with VSync off, in preparation for the future.

If anyone knows of a way to pre load lots of animations into memory, in Unity, it would be very helpful. So we can have up to 10 scans animating on screen at once.

    in some of the screenshots you had the girls in what looked like a living room. is it still planned to have them in that kind of setting? I would prefer that kind of setting over the current large hallway setting thats there right now. still looks great though thanks

      So would we. The technology doesn’t exist yet for Unity. Unity5 is out but it’s missing a bunch of features that UE4 has. We are working on interiors and custom effects for Unity 5 such as SSR (reflections) and HBAO (Occlusion) So the big hall will have to suffice for now. Small steps for us but big plans 🙂

    Yay for Tillie model! Favorite yet

    Just had some thoughts regarding future HMDs – given Oculus’s acquisition of 13th, I believe they will have infinite positional tracking via internal depth cameras next year. Also, was interested to hear your thoughts on the Hololens. It wouldn’t be too hard to integrate with VRGirlz – no backdrop to render, and just apply color correction in tandem with lighting detected by the front camera. Supposedly it is releasing this year for an affordable price.

    Also, consider using breathing sounds with Oculus’s new positional audio SDK! (presence multiplier)

        In retrospect, I still think Sapphire is the best. I love those natural busty models the UK is famous for, and she is the closest to that (i.e. Joey Fisher, Lucy Collett, Danielle Sharp, etc.)

      Room tracking will be very good indeed. Not so sure about MagicLeap and Hololens yet until there is a public demo. But we are most interested in AR!! Lots will be possible.

    Despite the first Lucid Dreams Demo working fine for me, this one mocks me with a black screen. After pressing a key I get kicked out of the program. Maybe a problem with my AMD Radeon R9 290?

      It might be something to do with forcing DX11, we are investigating further. Can you list your full PC specs? Sorry for the troubles, we will find a fix.

            We know what that, a fix will be available in Version 1.4. Version 1.3 is out today but you will still get pink/purple lashes. Sorry about that. What are your system specs by chance?

      What method of decompression/extraction do you use? I had the exact same problem but with the dk1 demo. Using 7-zip to properly extract the files fixed my issues. Also make sure you run the demo as admin.

    Cannot get Single Camera Mode to work and I don’t have Oculus drivers (as I don’t even have an Oculus). I hope you guys realize that many potential customers don’t have an Oculus yet, as we’re waiting for a consumer version, yet it would still be nice to see the potential of this software without going crosseyed.

    Nice work on the breathing/swaying animations. 😛 I think it makes a significant difference and can’t wait to try it. have you considered having only one pose on the screen at a time when you introduce the animations? You may be on an impossible mission with 10+ animated models that may even be interacted with on the longer run. It might be an idea to start with one and let the user add more if he has a rig that can handle it. Nausea caused by freezing of the scene during loading could maybe be reduced by overlaying the scene with a flat loading screen.

      We have the same issue, it happens when combined with the lod system. For some reason as you get close to the last LOD0 the animations pop into memory on the 150K mesh, which causes a 1 second delay = nausea

    Extremly well done guys!!!
    I have tested loads of app on the oculus DK2 so far and i have to say that you did a really great job!

    I bought two models this week end on VRgirlz. Everything is fluid, no judder ( and i can have a lot of it with my laptop driven by this horrible optimus technology), menu is clear, music is powerful and stylished (we want more), controls are just easy to get, well inspired, really efficient !! I could say a lot more but i have to go. i will in a next email!

      Thank you! Yes. _DirectToRift.exe should be in windowed mode. You can also start either .exe and hold shift and alt I think (Unity feature) to bring up the resolution dialogue where you should be able to set to windowed mode.

        Dunno how, but i was finally able to run it in windowed mode. 🙂

        What i did :
        – First i launched and press ALT+SHIFT then the graphic menu poped up but the app was still in fullscreen (i tried multiple resolutions)
        – If i launch a second instance of the exe, this one works according to the chosen resolution but crash after a few seconds.

        – Then retrying right after with ALT+SHIFT didn’t bring me the menu but the app was in full windowed mode.

        My specs : Windows7 64b, I7 4770K, 16Go, 2xGTX670 in SLI, and triple monitors (not surround).

        You could put this issue at the bottom of priorities 😉

    Download Link doesn’t work with Chrome! It finishes the download but then it says that the file could be harmful to my computer and it immediatly deletes it!

      The only work around is for us using 7zip. There’s nothing harmful about the file. For now try using Firefox.

    Why are you guys loading all the objects/models at once anyways? Why not simply cycle through the models one by one (manually) ? This should provide you much more headroom. Don’t forget games can fake and hide lot’s of detail using many, many tricks and optimizations and still “appear to be” complex and detailed, you guys are almost trying to achieve the opposite.

      Why, did you have some troubles running it? Let us know. If you’re referring to the animations, it doesn’t matter even if we’re loading one animation at once we still get a dropped frame when the new animation appears on screen. We’re rendering 150k meshes here with 8k textures. We’re not trying to achieve the opposite. We’re well aware of tricks and optimizations, we’re already doing them.

        Yes, referring to the animations (btw, no offence intended, should’ve left out the “opposite remark”).
        You could maybe fade to black first, switch, and fade back, a stutter during black shouldn’t matter, right? Sitting in my lazy chair commenting I just got the feeling (reading your replies) you are set on achieving something very specific instead of achieving what is currently possible.

          No problem. We already have the effect built in. It kind of simulates a blink, as if the user is closing their eyes then a new model appears. It’s just more impressive to display the models all in a row, surreal no doubt but more impressive. We want to add in 2x modes though. All in models a row mode (no animations) and single model display mode (with animations) This should come in about Version 2.0 across all BVR’s.

    It would be neat to have the eyes follow you as you walk around…creepy but immersive I would think. Also, maybe some way to tell the models to come to you would be interesting, even with no animation. 🙂

    Hi, nice work you have done!
    Models look very nice and detailed.

    I was wondering if the the AVR or future products will even have higher resolution textures (and 3d models). So you can see even more detail and the immersion gets even better :).

    It will one day become “real life” real 🙂 , but now it is already damn close.

    You should probably write “Review by …” in another colour, at the costumer review page on the VRgirlz site. Since the title of the costumer review and the “Review by …”-text is written with the same colour, font, and on the same line, it’s somewhat difficult to understand what was meant. It can be misinterpreted as one long sentence. Also, when I click on any costumer-review link, I get a 404 error message. I know I’m pettifogging, but I just had to write this post…

    Sculp in VR? VRclay is really nice and promissing. With still minimal tools and constant resolution the proof of concept is already very enabling to sculpt.

    Nice Demo. If I purchase the apps now, will they be updated when you get back different skies, multilight and any new feature? Demo is a bit too much sterile in comparison to past stuff. Do purchases unlock girls on a single app or each purchase is an app? I liked putting them together. I did not imagine I would enjoy the move feature, but I did. Kudos.

    The one thing that is bothering me a lot (for real) is their hair. The dark roots make the ladies look “cheap”. I know, I know… CG RT. But maybe there is an alternative that could still work. Models with short hair, natural color or recently colored. Use braids or any better hair style than hair-bun-of-an-old-lady-that-does-not-care-for-looks-anymore. I think I would rather see uncanny geometry the scan wouldn’t catch well than the really unsexy old-lady bun (or is it not unsexy on UK?).

    Is Blue Saphire the same as the girl by the pole?

      Each pack is individual. No you can’t put them together. We will update them over time. Buns, ponytail or tied back is the only way to do hair without it looking like clay. Until we get better GPU’s. Yes that’s Blue Sapphire.

      Thank you! 64bit has been available now for well over a decade, it’s pretty much an industry standard and necessary for next generation rendering, especially for VR and especially for our content because we use multiple high resolution scans and textures. We recommend a 64bit system if you can.

      It will be in about 1-2 weeks for the AVR content but they will be similar poses and models, still static scans, with some early physics IF we can get it to work. It will take some time for new models and poses to filter through, so perhaps hold on to your cash for now but we appreciated the support.

      There will be no way to pose the models. They are static fixed scans.

      It’s coming, we planned to have it on-line last night. It’s not trivial because we have to use our own SMTP server to send the emails as most companies like MAILCHIMP or CAMPAIGN MONITOR (who charge too much anyway!) have draconian views on adult entertainment and prohibit adult content.       Amazing thank you. It’s good to hear from others who also appreciate her beauty (which is in the eye of the beholder 🙂 ) Ariel has amazing hair in real-life. We are working on our own custom hair solution which we hope to introduce (for free) in to these BVR’s products in the future. The reason why the models have their hair in buns is so we can easily add in virtual hair. I hope to make a blog post about that soon to explain further. So proper hair will be arriving eventually, it will add so much extra to their beauty. Thanks for your kind comments and support! 🙂

    Thanks for censoring out the complainers not appreciating real beauty even when it’s right in front of them. Some guys only judge tits on their volume where other guys see them right. I think you should consider censoring the reviews on vrgirlz.com as well, because they are not a review but a complaint about your release pipeline. Great job on the two new Ariel BVR packages which I instantly bought a few days ago. Ariel is without comparison the star of your current selection and I hope that she’ll be in an AVR product soon. 😛

We also thrive on constructive criticism, as it serves a purpose. The VRGIRLZ reviews we want to leave as honest as possible, so far no one has really been overly negative or rude. Wow I’m so glad you like Ariel, I’m also a big fan of her set as well 🙂 (mess around with the scale functions some more, it’s great fun!) If you haven’t already please do leave a review on VRGIRLZ, anything positive towards Ariel is a good thing.

    Does this not work well with DK1? If I play it normally, all I get is a black screen (with sound). If I make it go to window mode, I can see things, but the SBS is too far apart horizontally, plus the head tracking doesn’t work (only works with the mouse).

      This has been released for the DK2, DK1 support has not been built it. It might however work if you have the latest Oculus 0.4.4 drivers and “Dk1 Legacy App Support” ticked on “Rift Display Mode”. Thanks.

          Not much we can do I’m afraid as we don’t support DK1. You could try the Oculus forums. Make sure to have Aero ‘enabled’ and that you have a 64bit machine.

      Demo works flawlessly on DK1 for me, ( I don’t have a DK2), with 0.4.4 drivers, head tracking and all.
      I have since purchased for pose packs which also worked flawlessly. (win 8.1, 64bit, gtx680)

        What I’ve noticed from comments here and on Reddit (especially on Reddit) is that some people are interested in raw porn, as low and degrading as possible for the models. As long as there’s some wide open legs, big bouncy boobs and a “fuck me” look in the girl’s eyes, they’ll be happy. Unfortunately for them and very fortunately for many of us, you are taking a much more artistic approach. You’re catering for a public who enjoys the beauty of the female nude, who can just sit back and admire the details of their perfect bodies (yes, Ariel, I’m talking about you!), who prefer elegance over vulgarity.
        Please, do not lose that focus. Even if you decide to experiment with something “less elegant” (so to speak), keep this beautiful work flowing.
        As I said a long time ago, many blog posts before this, what you are doing is real art.
        Thank you very much for that.

          I think what people don’t realize, especially on Reddit as I tried to point out there (I’ve given up commenting there now) is that it’s not easy to find good, reliable, open talent. Not all models are XXX. Some don’t care and will do anything, whilst others will only do certain things. We also shoot in a sterile studio and they have their hair tied back (not the most sexy conditions). We also have a limited budget to work with and a slim selection of UK talent. We have many constraints that the public don’t realize exist. We will try and do a mixture of both, art and more adult. Our next plan is too shoot in eastern Europe, then the US then further a field. We would love to work with Japanese models for example. We want a diverse range as possible. We’re on it 🙂

      Thanks for bringing that to our attention, we have informed IR-Entertainment Ltd, I believe they will be in contact with them. These guys disobeyed the T&C’s on sale. Sadly this means triplegangers.com will be taken down, in case anyone else tries to do the same. This is why, as a society, we can’t have nice things!! You’re welcome to support them but what they are doing is underhanded and they are trying to make a fast buck without doing the hardwork. The website also looks very dodgy, do they store your data? where are they based? do they track you? are they a real company? No T&C’s, No Privacy Policy. They use PayPal? Very suspicious.

        Anyway, I’m not giving them a cent. You just can’t trust a company like that, even if you ignore the fact that they are using their assets in a very questionable manner.

          Same here. Some people want to take the short road to a fast buck (by breaking rules). We’re in this for the long road we want to see VR and synthetic human replication evolve. Not just regurgitated what another company has done already. It’s great to know we have support, thanks 🙂

    In regards to the animation issue:

    Instead of loading each model into memory (which sounds like it would take up a LOT of ram), have you thought about first processing all the animations together in order to optimise them for loading into RAM?

    In other words you can create an algorithm that determines the only data that you actually NEED and then stores this in a different file that is much smaller than the 10 combined figures.

    I am assuming that your product also stores different information about light sources for each model… well using this same system you could also potentially store all the data in a specific order so that it only needs to load into memory any relevant light data that it needs to use for the series of animations…

      Thanks for the ideas. We’ve explored various options. Our best solution for the moment will be allowing single scans at a time animated, this is possible.
